Meet the Panelists

Dr. James Desir

Originally from Connecticut, Dr. James Desir graduated from UConn in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science, where he was also a Division 1 athlete. He went on to earn his DVM from Ross University in 2011, completing his clinical year at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Desir is a proud husband and new father, dedicated to both his family and his passion for veterinary medicine.

Dr. Brandon Thornberry

Dr. Brandon, a St. Louis native and lifelong veterinary enthusiast, earned his DVM from the University of Missouri and completed a medical device innovation fellowship. He brings experience from emergency and relief work across 20 hospitals and joined CareVet in 2022 as a Clinical Operations Veterinarian. He is especially passionate about supporting new graduate veterinarians, helping them build confidence and find the guidance they need as they begin their careers.
